Unfortunately, simply renting a living space is not enough. You also need gas, water, and electricity (GWE). Usually, this is included in the rent, but not always. The Nibud calculates the average costs for GWE for various households every year. For an apartment, this amounts to about 100 to 140 euros per month. So, before you say yes to a room, studio, or apartment, check whether the rent includes or excludes gas, water, and electricity.
